Our Favorite Rock, 2021

This painting is part of a series of desert themed pieces I made starting in the midst of a rough Seattle winter. In the summer of 2019, my brother and I went on a camping trip near Arches National Park and went into the park for a day. My brother had been before and immediately pulled over so we could look at this rock, his favorite one in the park, and now both our favorite. It was the start of a wonderful and hot summer day and continues to be one of my favorite memories.
