Somewhere Close to Home, 2021

I created this painting based off a photo from a beach on Oahu, Hawaii that I took in 2019. This photo was from a walk I took with my parents on my last night visiting them. When I painted it in 2021, it had been well over a year since I had last been home or near the ocean and I ached deeply to go back. This painting was therapeutic for me to make after so much time away.
