When I was 21, I traveled by myself to Azores, Portugal for a week. At the time I described it as the boldest thing I’d ever done as I had never truly traveled alone. I found a lot of peace and solace in the familiarity of the ocean and the mountains while I was there and continue to look back on the trip as a time that deeply shaped who I became.
